Eden Project, Cornwall, UK 

Shelter Shells were installed within a lined irrigation-water reservoir at the Eden Project in Cornwall, alongside two Biomatrix floating wetlands incorporating GeoMatrix and Natural Matrix specifications. The reservoir supports the extensive planting associated with the Eden Project’s famous biomes, while the habitat installations increase the ecological value of an otherwise engineered waterbody.

The Shelter Shells were installed with Professor Ian Hendy of the University of Portsmouth, working alongside university students and the Eden Project team. Together with the floating wetlands above, the submerged structures add textured surfaces, refuge and habitat complexity below the waterline, creating a more complete ecology through the water column.
